Meet Everest

Aka “Butter”

Two kittens lying inside a cardboard box labeled '50 X 44 9 BUTTER'.

In August of 2024, we received a phone call about a puppy with a significant head injury located in a remote area. These are the types of calls we just don't say no to. Upon arrival of the pup, we were shocked about how small she was, and the gash in her head nearly reaching her eyes. She was rushed to the vet to inspect her level of injury; and we hoped for good news. She arrived to us in a Butter box so naturally, we named her Butter. We were thrilled to hear that Butter had no broken bones, and that she would likely make a full recovery with some antibiotics and wound care.

Butter went to foster care in Regina where her foster took excellent care of her and helped her grow into a wonderful dog for a potential family.

She healed up beautifully & was ready for her forever home within 3-4 months. Butter, was renamed Everest and was adopted to a lovely couple who lived on a farm nestled within beautiful pine trees and endless trails for her to run on.

A Tribute to Everest & Her Forever Family

Approximately 6 months later, Everest caught a severe bacterial infection and while her family and vet exhausted all options they could to save her, she crossed the Rainbow Bridge with her "Furever Family" by her side. We are gutted by their loss but we find comfort in knowing how loved Everest was during her time here on Earth.

We would like to thank Everest's forever family, her fosters, and the vets that provided care in her recovery.

Without you all, Everest would never have had a chance to run free and live her best life in the short time that she did. Thank you.
