Unleash Your Inner Super Hero 🐾

Fostering saves lives.

Here’s why fosters are essential to our organization — and why you should consider joining the team.

  • Many animals arrive sick, injured, or recovering from surgery. In a calm home, animals relax, eat better, sleep, and show their true personalities. That makes rehabilitation easier and increases chances of successful adoption.

  • Without fosters, these animals might not survive or might suffer long waits for limited medical resources.

  • One foster can indirectly save multiple lives by freeing up space for urgent cases.

  • Socialize and train pets for adoption: Most puppies, kittens, shy adults and nervous seniors all benefit from socialization in a temporary home.

  • Match pets with the right homes: Fosters learn each animal’s unique quirks and needs.

FAQ

  • Yes! Our foster homes are given the first opportunity to adopt the animal in their care, as long as they notify us meet our standard adoption requirements.

  • Yes! If you know you’ll be away, just let us know as early as possible and we can arrange a temporary foster to care for the animal during that time. Advance notice helps us make sure the pet has a smooth transition and continues receiving consistent care while you’re gone. We appreciate communication and will always work with you to ensure the animal’s needs are met.

  • Yes! While a dog is in your care, the rescue provides all essential supplies, including food, treats, crates, bowls, leashes, collars, toys, and any required medications or veterinary needs. Fosters should never feel responsible for covering costs out of pocket—we supply everything the dog needs throughout their stay.

  • No - we do not intake cats to our rescue at this time. However, we do assist in emergency medical care and have partner relationships with other cat rescue in Saskatchewan to help off-load some of the work of our rescue friends. PLEASE NOTE: This is done on a case by case basis only.

  • Your commitment to care is important. We ask that you provide your foster animal with a “safe place to land” while they heal, learn and become the best version of themselves while awaiting adoption.

  • Yes! We must have proper written approval from your landlord before going forward.
